Our New Zealand NAKED COW ™ Leather
We are proud to introduce New Zealand leather into our Duffle&Co range.
With a narrative of environmental regeneration and social empowerment, our new collection 'Coming Home' means that now you can carry a piece of New Zealand with you everyday.
Made from sustainably sourced New Zealand NAKED COW ™ Leather, each piece is ethically handcrafted, signed by the maker, and comes with a traceable story via QR code. Purposefully created with neutral PH, this leather is completely biodegradable due to a special tannage made from natural oils and cashew extracts. These unique pieces are also non-allergenic and anti-viral, and age beautifully.
Where does your New Zealand leather come from?
Our vegetable tanned New Zealand cow leather comes from the pastures of Oamaru in Otago, and Invercargill in Southland, and is a by-product of the grass-fed food industry here in New Zealand. Our farmers work hand-in-hand with nature to ensure luxurious leather, while sustaining an environmental legacy to be passed on to generations to come.
How is it dyed?
Our New Zealand leather is produced with a vegetable tannage developed with a combination of natural oils and cashew extracts. Purposefully created with neutral pH, this leather is perfect for next-to-skin uses and for those with sensitive skin. It is dyed in India near to where our workshop is situated, in a tannery that holds the BSCI and Leather Working Group (Gold) certifications.
How are the leather bags in 'Coming Home' traceable?
We have integrated our supply chain journey into the blockchain to produce a traceable product story. When you scan the QR codes on the back of the hangtags attached to each piece in this collection, you will see the entire journey of each bag and wallet, from where it is sourced to where it is packed before it comes to your door.
