Duffle&Co utilises traceable blockchain technology
We are thrilled to announce the launch of our new collection ‘Coming Home’ that pays homage to the beauty and form of Aotearoa. With a narrative of environmental regeneration and social empowerment, now you can carry a piece of New Zealand with you everyday.
Made from sustainably sourced New Zealand NAKED COW™ Leather, each piece is ethically handcrafted, signed by the maker, and comes with a traceable story via QR code.
Thanks to our brand new integrated blockchain technology, customers buying online or shopping at one of our dedicated retailers will be able to scan the QR codes printed on each hang tag, instantly giving them access to the leather bag or wallet's journey. From sourcing our leather from Otago and Southland, to handcrafting and sending each piece, this pairing of fashion and technology is a new chapter for us and in retail that is another step towards giving consumers the full story of where their product has come from.
Emily Long, Creative Director of Duffle&Co says “Integrating our supply chain for this new collection to the blockchain seemed a natural way to give our customers transparency. As a certified B Corporation we put a lot of hard work into each step of making a new bag or accessory, so we hope that this unites our makers and customers in their Duffle&Co journey.”
And it’s not just the tech that’s new! Our New Zealand NAKED COW™ Leather is purposefully created to have a neutral PH, due to a special vegetable tannage made from natural oils and cashew extracts. There’s no nasty chemicals in this process at all, only natural goodness, hence the name NAKED. This process also makes this collection non-allergenic and anti-viral, which is great next to sensitive skin. Plus this means that the leather ages beautifully!
The new collection ‘Coming Home’ is available now online here or at one of our Duffle&Co dedicated stockists.
