A Decade of Duffle

Kind of Chic to Own a Bag for Years

We are interested in crafting bags that transcend all the seasons of your life. And as true slow fashion enthusiasts, we like to take things slow. Even our photo shoots!

Our first outreach to Wānaka based photographer Bri Woolnough was in 2021. Over the years she has become an integral part of our team, with her visual world view representing our brand's life force, effortlessly. Bri is so much of a muse to us that in 2023 we named a tote after her - and today it is still one of our best sellers.

When Bri received her Greenslade Leather Duffle, with her name engraved on one end, it became not only a part of her travelling photography kit, but - in her words - a part of her life. And what ensued was a years-long photoshoot.

"It's been with me on every road trip, and has seen a lot of mud, dust, snow and sun," says Bri.

In the beginning, we loved the smoothness and rich almost red brown of the tan leather and how it softly folded when it was carried.

And while there's something special about a new leather bag, we honestly love the 2026 version even more.

Bri agrees. "Every etch in the leather tells a story."

In the latest shoot at a secret spot in the central South Island of New Zealand, Bri captured her duffle on the hood of her red truck, via drone and with the backdrop of pristine water and snowcapped alps. While at first glance it looks like a bag from our shelves, on closer inspection the etchings reflect the grasses in the surrounding area.

At Duffle&Co our aspiration is for our bags to become a thing of beauty and a force for good in the world. And we can't think of a better presentation of that aspiration than a years-old bag going centre-shot alongside arguably the best view in the world.

"It's crazy how an item like this plays a small but important role in my life and will be with me for many more years to come," said Bri.

"I'm so thankful to be working with a brand that makes the most incredible products that will last a lifetime, and I'm fortunate enough to have my own piece of Duffle with me wherever I go."
