International Women's Day - Give to Gain

On Sunday March 8 we will celebrate the 115th International Women's Day. The journey for gender equity has been a long one. And we are still on the road. 

The theme for this year's International Women's Day is Give to Gain. And we are taking that on board at Duffle&Co. As a fully female owned business - with Bee in NZ and our production partner Sundari running the workshop in Bali, progress for women is etched in.

We each have two daughters who all have an interest in business. And when Bee travelled to see the Gito family recently, they talked about the importance of education,  empowerment and dreaming big. 

 



In Bee's previous business she was involved in an activism campaign for pay equity in New Zealand called MindTheGap. The campaign won awards and more importantly drove attention and change at a Government and tier one corporate level in New Zealand. 

While we keep an eye on progress at an international and national level, we also know that supporting women in your local community is one of the most meaningful ways to affect change. For women, especially mothers, sometimes urgent wraparound community care is needed to transition into stable environments.

Our Local Pledge

This week, for every bag sold over $100, we will pledge $5 as a donation to our local charity Kāpiti Women's Centre.
